Dean Winchester

Dean is tough, womanizing, and confident--on the surface. Underneath, he is insecure and is afraid of intimacy. He is, above all else, extremely brave (to the point where he can and has done stupid things because it's the right thing to do) and would do anything for his family. His brother (Sam) and his father are the most important people in his life, and he is ridiculously loyal to them. He feels protective of and responsible for Sam. He has a fear of failure and, while he doesn't show it to many people, he is secretly afraid that he did fail Sam when he was helping to raise him. He is the more angry/violent of the brothers and Sam will have to talk him out of committing violent acts occasionally. He loves food and can often be seen stuffing food into his mouth in a moment of calm. His brother gave him an amulet when he was younger and he never takes it off—it’s a sign of his devotion to his brother and he views it as a good luck charm.

Dean was born on January 24, 1991 in Glastonbury to John and Mary Winchester. He has a younger brother named Sam, who is two years younger than our hero him. John worked as a professor at Beauxbatons until the wizard named Azazel killed Mary, and then lit the house on fire. John pushed Dean out of the house to escape the blaze, after putting Sam in his arms and telling him to take care of his brother. After failing to save his wife and catch Azazel, John became a vigilante and began to hunt evil magicians. He raised the boys to have very little trust for wizards, despite the fact that he himself was one. John's new job had him traveling across Europe, bringing the boys with him. Due to his drive to catch Azazel, John left the raising of Sam to Dean. He would often leave the two boys in an inn while he went off to hunt, with Dean in charge.

If the Winchesters were in the UK, John would often leave the boys with his friend Bobby, who also worked to hunt evil wizards and Dark Creatures. Dean himself has gone hunting with his father and continued to hunt by himself (now with Sam in toe) during the summers between school semesters and has killed dark wizards and creatures to protect nearby innocents and his family. Due to their father suddenly disappear shortly before Dean’s 11th birthday, when Dean got his letter from Hogwarts, he refused to go without his younger brother and put off his entrance for 2 years until Sam got invited.
